Introduction

This is the tool for customer to calculate proper register settings for ON Semiconductor image sensors/SOC/ISPs. The User only needs to specify input clock frequency (EXTCLK), desired output clock frequency (PIXCLK), and frame rate requirements. The Register Wizard will calculate and generate a list of register settings for users.
As shown in Figure 1, the sensor clock will be calculated based on frame rate requirements. Based on sensor clock frequency and required pixel clock, the SOC clock frequency is calculated. The SOC clock frequency should be as low as possible to provide the lowest power consumption, but still maintain continuous data flow from sensor to the output interface. A Rx/Tx FIFO with programmable watermarks allows for the continuous flow of data.

Operation Procedures

(1). Double-Click the RegisterWizard.exe located in the directory. As shown in Figure 4.

(2). Select a proper sensor configuration file from the Combo-Box in the Start-up panel as shown in Figure 5. If the Combo-Box does not show any files, please go to step (3) to open sensor configuration file.

(3). User can Click menu "File"->"Open Config..." to open specific sensor configuration file other than the default files in the Combo-Box.

(4). Select/Open the Sensor Configuration file in the File Dialog as shown in Figure 7.

(5). Adjust windows/dock-windows settings, then click menu "Windows"->"Save State" to save current geometry settings.

(5). Select one of the "Image configurations" from the drop-down Combo-Box.

(6). Click "Show Registers" to display the calculated output Register address/values.

(7). Click "Advanced Parameters" to set up the sensor as shown in Figure 11 and Figure 12.

(8). Click "File"->"Save Config…" to save the current sensor configuration to a CFG file.

(8). Click "File"->"Save INI" to save the current register settings to a INI file.
