IQWare

IQware is an image quality evaluation tool which was designed to help measure the image quality and create a measuring standard within Aptina as well as between Aptina and customers or partners. It has the following features:

  • Common image types (bmp, png, jpg, etc.) support
  • Seamless interconnects with DevWare to capture images using Aptina Sensors
  • One click graphical reporting into html files
  • Layout save and load
  • Quick start menu for first time user
  • Multi threaded application for parallel measurement tasks

Matlab runtime

Some image quality methods in IQware were developed in Matlab. Therefore, Matlab runtime is needed to be installed to use those tuning methods. Due to the installer size, Matlab runtime installer is not part of DevSuite installer. When SensorTune is launched and if necessary Matlab components are missing, you will see the following warning.

Users can visit the link presented in the dialog to download and install the necessary Matlab runtime.

Three main modules are supported:

 MacBeth Color Checker Test

  • MacBeth ColorChecker Color patch chart with different color accuracy and white balance measurements
  • MacBeth ColorChecker Color patch chart with noise level values of R/G/B channels or Bayer Channels of each patch
  • Gray patch plot
  • Mean delta-E

Modulation Transfer Function (MTF) Measurements

  • Slanted edge MTF measurement of ISO 12233 chart
  • MTF chart with Luminance and R/G/B channels (able to toggle on or off each channel, peak value display)
  • Report with mtf10, mtf50, and MTF frequency/value table
  • Gamma value input

Color Uniformity

  • Uniformity chart of Luminance or R/G/B channels
  • 3 sets of colormaps for different visual experience
  • Contour line display
  • User selected Sub Sampling rate
  • User selected percentages for center and corner mean calculation
  • Drop off values of four corners, min/mean/max values
  • Report with user selected charts
