Power Measurement Plugin User Guide Anchor _GoBack _GoBack
This plugin is developed to measure the total power consumed by sensor for a particular preset. The options in UI are designed to meet the various requirements from the AE team. The requirements document is in DW-10367.
After launching the DevwareX, from the Plug-ins, choose the Power Measurement. Once selected the below UI will come-up.
From the preset option of DevX, select the preset to which the power to be measured.
On Click of "StartPolling" - for SINGLE sample the voltage, current values are read and power for individual supply rail will be computed. The total power will be shown in Total Power row. The total power computed & preset name will be overlaid on the streaming window.
Below snap illustrates the output of the SINGLE sample. Both Continuous polling & samples polling are disabled and total power computed with preset name is overlaid on the streaming window.
Reset Button – Click reset button to clear the table entries & options will be enabled to do next operation.
To Perform Continuous Polling operation, Check the ContinousPolling and click the StartPolling button. Once clicked, the voltage, current values are read & power will be computed. The total power & preset name will be overlaid on the streaming window. This is a continuous mode. In b/w if user wants to change the preset, user can select any other preset. The power will be computed based on the latest preset value. At any point of time, to stop this mode, uncheck the ContinousPolling option or click on reset.
The below snap illustrates the continuous polling option. The sample polling option is disabled. The total power computed for the chosen preset is computed & overlaid on the streaming window.
To perform Sample Polling operation, provide the sample number in samples & click StartPolling button. Once clicked, the voltage, current values are read & power will computed. The total power & preset name will be overlaid on the streaming window for the number of samples the user has provided. The average total power for number of samples is shown under the row AvgPower. The time left in mins: secs, will be shown to indicate the user the remaining time to complete this sample polling.
The below snap illustrate the usage of the Sample polling option. The continuous polling option is disabled during this operation. In the below snap for 5 samples the voltage, current are read the total power will be computed. During this operation, the time left will give the number of secs remaining to complete this operation. The total power with preset name is overlaid on the streaming window.
For any operation performed the voltage, current & power values will be saved under
C:\users\fgid\documents\PowerMeasurement.csv
Note: Any one operation can be selected either Continuous Polling or Sample Polling. If both options are provided, error message will be shown.
Also after every operation is done, please click on Reset button.
