If you experience a problem with DevWareX in the form of a start-up or run-time crash, the first step is to try the same Hardware (cable, baseboard, headboard) on another PC (if possible).
If the problem only exists on one PC, you can clear the Windows registry* for the specific ON Semiconductor product you are using.
This is a safe procedure in this registry entry only tracks DevWareX-specific information for that product.
Here are those steps:
In the Windows search window (lower-left), type “regedit”.
When the Register Editor dialog appears, use the left-side navigation area to get to:
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ON Semiconductor\DevWareXSelect the “>” arrow to expand the folder, and you’ll see all the entries used by DevWareX.
Find the product entry (e.g. “ASX340AT”), right-click it, select “Delete”, and then select “Yes” when asked to confirm.
Exit the Register Editor, and restart DevWareX.
If the problem is still observed, the next step is to delete the “DevWareX” registry entry itself. Deleting that entry will reset DevWareX to the start as if it was never installed. It is the same process as listed above, except in Step #4 you select “DevWareX”.
