4 - Dual Band IR Filter Calibration

4 - Dual Band IR Filter Calibration

Dual-band IR imager is used in surveillance and automobile camera market. Without special color processing (as offered here), the image will render IR-rich material such as leaves and some fabric to unnatural color with red tint.

Input arguments

This calibration method is only available for some sensors. The Dual Band IR Filter Calibration tab is disabled if the selected sensor is not supported.

Input arguments

IR filter transmittance data

The data file should be a text file with two columns of numbers, the wavelength in nm, and the transmittance percent. Example:
360 3.79

370 4.08

380 23.72

390 80.95

...

Lens transmittance data [Optional]

SensorTune uses internal sensor sensitivity and lens transmittance data, but you can load your own data optionally. ...

Sensor sensitivity data [Optional]

SensorTune uses internal sensor sensitivity and lens transmittance data, but you can load your own data optionally.

The spectral data should be in the following format:
wavelength, relative response red, relative response green, relative response blue ...

Calibration

White Balance Calibration

Calculate Regions will give the nominal results plots. Follow the instructions regarding plots in the text box and adjust A to CWF Lines parameters. In current version, there is no automated validation, and so users need to use caution and adjust the parameters to meet the stated criteria.

Dual Band CCM Calibration

Calculate CCM calcuates color correction matrix and projected color errors. Adjust CCM inputs to generate the scene specific color correction matrix.
